Operation Havana

Alison Lambert leading Michael Coley secure convictions against seven defendants following an investigation by Essex County Council Trading Standards Department. Four defendants were convicted of conspiracy to defraud by mis-selling and money laundering and three defendants were convicted of money laundering. The case concerned mis-selling by four linked companies of products sold as “add ons” to a solar system. The value of the fraud was £300k and the four companies turned over £6.5m in a 19 and a half month period. The seven defendants are due to be sentenced next month.
